Improvements to Email.
Our engineers have now fully integrated IMAP email in to all customer accounts.
You do not need to make any changes at all if you are a POP email user, your email will continue to function as normal and no changes are required at all to your settings. However if you are using any other incoming mailserver such as pop.yourdomain.co.uk please IMMEDIATELY change this to mail.yourdomain.co.uk otherwise you will not be able to connect to the correct mailserver.
With regards to mapped domains, in order to retrieve mail from those mailboxes you would need to now login to the main domain's mailserver (such as mail.maindomain.co.uk) and also the main domain's email address that you want to collect mapped emails from (use
test@maindomain.co.uk to collect email from
test@mapped_domain.co.uk)
If you experience any connection issues after this please reset your password for the problemmatic mailbox in your MyPANEL.
Why have we done this ?
· Email can be stored long term on our servers
· You can create multiple folders on the email server through your email client
· More email can be stored on the server
· Better protection from spam emails, and a new system in place to help our servers from being blacklisted with well known ISP's.
These changes we felt were important, with the migration of your websites to a new Virtualised server system and a new email platform we can assure your hosting is now at the forefront of web hosting technology.
What does this mean? For customers who are using email forwarders on POP email the feature will simply be called 'Email List' you can still configure your email forwarders as normal.What does this mean?
