URL Security is a powerful feature that allows you to password protect areas of your website. So for example, you might want to password protect one single page, or several from the public and give those pages a username and password access for 'members only'
To set up, firstly click on the 'drop down' arrow on the 'Protect a new directory:' field.
Choose from the drop down a directory or folder you wish to enable URL security on.
Click 'Add Security'
You will then see the message:
"Security has been installed on your domain/ your directory
Information:
To add members to this directory please click the button below or return to the main menu.
Edit security on this directory: "
and go ahead and 'Edit Security' button
Heres where you 'Add a member', and you can assign here , and give, a unique username and password to your member.
Then when your user goes to the directory in a website browser he will be prompted to enter the username and password you have assigned, and because members of the public who have not been assigned the username and password cannot enter - the directory (website page) is secured.
The 'Remove Security' feature allows you to do just that if you wish, remove the security you may have added to any directories previously.
