What is 'Authenticated SMTP'?
What is 'Authenticated SMTP'?

By default we ask our customers to use the SMTP server address provided by their ISP to send outgoing Email.

There may be situations though where this is not possible.

Our authenticated SMTP server upgrade allows you to send email when connected to any ISP or network.

This service should be of interest if you use ADSL, are connected to a corporate network, or your ISP simply does not provide an SMTP service.

How does it work?

Authenticated SMTP introduces an extra stage into the process of sending email, in which a username and password are checked against a database. If the username and password provided are correct the server allows the email to be sent to its destination. All modern email clients allow you to specify an SMTP username and password when setting your outgoing email server.

Add authenticated SMTP to your package:

Authenticated SMTP is now fully available for all customers. Please follow the setup instructions here
